After 10 too-short weeks, it’s the series 21 finale of Taskmaster, with Amy Gledhill, who’s your asshole brother-in-law doing coke in the bathroom; Armando Iannucci, who’s a master at drumming up a good backstory; Joanna Page, who is a cackling moss lady; Joel Dommett, who puts his fingers up a vacuum cleaner’s bum; and Kumail Nanjiani, who’s pretty symmetrical. Can you imagine what these opening paragraphs must look like to people who don’t watch this magnificent show?
Taskmaster series 21, episode 10
Even after a fantastic season, I wasn’t prepared for S21 to go out on such a high note. Dommett has, undoubtedly, his best episode ever; the team task inspires Taskmaster Greg Davies to award an unprecedented number of points; and Page and Iannucci beat the shit out of Little Alex Horne with feather pillows. This was certainly a top-five season for me; maybe even top three. I’ve frequently called Page and Dommett walking rays of sunshine, but in truth, all the contestants were.
