Review: Taskmaster, “A 1970s camping kettle.” | Series 20, Episode 9
With the season nearly at an end, everybody screams
It’s the penultimate episode of series 20, with our contestants Ania Magliano, whose strange sounds are not just limited to meows; Maisie Adam, whose jockey mannequin looks suspiciously like herself; Phil Ellis, whose grandmother looks suspiciously like Winston Churchill; Reece Shearsmith, who cries icing sugar tears; and Sanjeev Bhaskar, who likes his breakfast to float.
Taskmaster series 20, episode 9
A fantastic episode all around, and not just because Little Alex Horne uttered the word “tits,” a moment so funny I had to hit the pause button. All three main tasks showcased the contestants’ creativity (even though true lateral thinking continues to be a bit of a rarity this season), and they were all classic Taskmaster without feeling tired. But perhaps the real hero of this episode was the closed captioner, who had entirely too much fun during the first task (more on this in a minute).
